Personal History
I was born in Utah and have lived here all of my life. I am the eldest son in a family with six children. I have always loved to perform in front of an audience. When my sister performed her dance routines for family members, I loved to get up and perform with her, and my mother says I always stole the show.
I used to watch movies and recite the scripts from memory, doing the voices of all of the characters.
I was in a summer singing group for children, where I also loved showing off.
In fourth grade, I was chosen to be in a play called "The Traveler's Lantern". This was my first 'real' acting experience on a stage, and I loved it. Then, a year later, I played the role of 'The Tin Man' in the play "The Wizard of Oz", in which I performed a musical solo. After that, I was hooked on acting and singing.
When I entered high school, I registered for a Drama class, and my interest in acting was heightened even more by an excellent Drama teacher, Mrs. Rasmussen.
I was chosen for the role of 'Arab' in the musical that year, and the experience I had was very enjoyable. I found that when I was on stage it was easier for me to express myself by pretending I was someone else. Instead of feeling nervous or afraid, I felt more relaxed than at any other time.
Since then, I have been heavily involved in my school's drama program, and I plan to continue acting whenever I have the opportunity.
